On Wednesday I’ll be supporting our farmers at ERYC Full Council by voting to oppose the Family Farm Tax this Labour Government is imposing on our farmers.
As Leader of East Riding Council I’ve always tried to do what I can to support our farmers. The East Riding is the pig producing capital of the United Kingdom, has a land mass which is by a vast majority used for agriculture and an economy whose back bone is farming and rural businesses.
Even if you’re not a farmer yourself, there’s not a person from Howdenshire to Holderness or Haltenprice to the Wolds who is not negatively impacted by this attack on our farmers.
Without our hardworking farmers, there’s no food for our tables.
Local farmers are organising a tractor rally through Beverley on the day. Let's support our farmers.
